Getting a quick blowout offers busy Dallas moms a chance to juggle their day AND look good

When you walk into the Drybar it’s like walking into a temple. I would say a hair temple. Situated in the Shops at Legacy North next to a few restaurants, you may not notice the tiny shop but once you walk in you see 10 chairs waiting to seat you so that  you can get a masterful blowout for a great price. Tall white walls with rows of haircare products and smiling faces greet you. When you sit down you can see the flat panel televisions playing movies like Dirty Dancing or you can

charge your iPhone in their phone chargers. When you sit down you select from a “beverage blow out” menu of choices ranging from the Martini to the Cosmo, to Southern Comfort and for out littlest darlings, the Shirley Temple. When  you decide you are not getting a drink but a blow out. A style.

There are no cuts and no colors here which translates to “no wait.” You can walk in and not have to worry that somebody is going to mess up your do. For $35, you are getting a blowout, a style and for extra you can get a scalp massage. What makes the Drybar so different is that for busy women you can get a fabulous style done in less than an hour. So you are not waiting for your stylist to make room for you. At the Drybar, they always have room and you walk out looking and feeling fabulous.

My conversation with Eddie

Eddie did my blow out yesterday. This charming guy is the best conversationalist and gives a wonderful “blow-out” ;) I have to give a wink for that right. (Not many men know how to do it right). So I asked him how he started and while he did go to stylist school he didn’t want to do cut and color. He wanted runway and glamour. So it’s very fitting for this aspiring runway stylist to be working at Drybar. He makes things fun and does an amazing blow-out giving you the option for either bigger curls if you like wavy or smooth and straight.

Drybar Plano

The After 2 PM crowd

The crowd is a wide array of young teens to older professionals. On a Monday afternoon at 3pm it started to get busy which is understandable. If anyone is going out later that day or in the evening, then you want to freshen up your look and while it can get busy, you are not waiting too long.

Is it worth $35? YES! I love anything that is under 50 bucks and saves me time at the same time helping me look good. My daughter and my coworkers loved it. For recommended gratuity, I would recommend $10.

Eddie made some recommendations as far as haircare products I wanted to share with you. They have these at the Drybar but they are also available at a fraction of the cost on Amaxon.com.  Moroccan Oil and Catwalk by TIGI are my favorite products. Moroccan Oil because it smells so good and the finishing spray is wonderful for hold and for nice smell effects. Just picture HIM (whoever your him is) running their fingers through your hair and smelling it.

I’ll have a Cosmo, make that a double

I opted for a Cosmo, with large loose curls. Even though my hair is medium length I loved the big curls, not too tight. He shampooed and conditioned my hair with a special conditioner that “re-energizes” itself at every shampoo up to 12 shampoos. Then Eddie styled the hair using a blowdryer and a round brush. Then with Moroccan oil to hold it in and the Moroccan Oil hairspray we were all set. I’ve included some images, just click on the images for Amazon pricing.

Starting at $38.69

Starting at $16.29, seen it in salons for $24 and higher

Also if you are active and on the go or run like I am, the dry shampoo from Catwalk by TIGI is also a must have. This helps to absorb the sweat and odor if you workout but don’t have time to wash your hair. For all my ladies who worry about their hare frizzing out after a shower, you definitely need this spray.

Starting at $16.31, seen it in salons at $22 and higher

From what I heard a new Drybar is opening up at Northpark Center in the fall and they will have 17 chairs. Can you imagine just walking in a getting a blowdry while shopping? It will be the largest location yet of the 17 they have nationwide.

Thanks Shannon! It was a great experience and I love it! In fact, my curls are still here today at work even after a night of sleeping and kids pulling it. LOL!
