4 Best Shoes for Travel

When it comes to travel, comfort and style are primary objectives. So, it’s no surprise that we look for shoes that do double duty.  We want comfort and style that makes sense, can go with many looks, and is worth our hard-earned dollars. We want to work and play with ease and style.

Here are our recommendations for favorites to add to your suitcase… plus a few bonus tips like our golf shoe insole tip to help you along the way.

A walkable sneaker

We love a sneaker with a polished edge. It helps the sneaker dance the fine line between comfort and looking like we just rolled out of bed.  Lately, we find that we are gravitating to styles that have soft, flexible leather, flat cotton laces that make for easy washing and durable soles that can rack up the miles.  This pair from Joyasol fit our slow fashion vibe, have a great founder story and have been the ones that are worn the most.

BONUS TIP for the Golfers:

If you have a great decide to amp up the comfort in your golf shoes: add a great insert.  These golf shoe inserts are a game changer.

A sandal

Easily one of our go-to shoes, sandals always have a spot in our carry-on. From the barely-there strappy styles to the more durable orthotic sandals for women that allow us to traipse across rocky terrain. We look for sandals made of rugged fabric or leather, with a cushioned sole, that fold flat and are comfortably sized — no pinching allowed.

A classic pump

In case of adventure, dancing and events that call for a bit more formal look, you can’t go wrong with a classic pump. Now, this is not the time to break in shoes that you’ve never worn before, but rather snag a pair that fit well, have a decent heel and make you feel fabulous.

A great boot

We are Texans and will almost swear that a great boot can be worn for any occasion. Look for one with a solid heel, non-slip sole and flexible shank. A pair similar to these from Tecovas are our current favorites.
