Presence
There’s something captivating about the offers that come from the House of Dodge. Distinctively American with a broad, muscular stance and the same grumbly V8 growl of its SRT siblings, the Durango is a family ride with teeth. It arrived outfitted with soft black leather and suede accents. The exterior was dressed up with a black vinyl HEMI decal that covered the hood, sleek grey paint dubbed Destroyer, and 345 badging that signaled we were in for a good time.
Power
One of the signatures of the Dodge brand is the easy access to exquisite levels of power, and the V8 in the 20th anniversary Dodge Durango is no exception. It’s a 5.7L HEMI paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It delivers a breathtaking 360 HP and 390 lb-ft of torque. The rumble and growl are exhilarating and dynamic, but more than that, it’s fun with a controlled power that unmatched by any of the other American manufacturers.

Heritage
Being the 20th Anniversary edition, it only makes sense that it celebrates what makes Durango a beloved addition to the lineup. Launched in 1998 as a brawny alternative to the minivan, the high-performance option became a fan favorite. It had spunk and an excitement infused with Dodge’s bravado and sturdy DNA. It went through several iterations, all equipped with powerful engines, generous space and a rough and tumble kind of grace, but still the crowd would not be sated. As a result, it lingers on as an adored fixture that I make a point to drive whenever I can.
For the right buyer, unbothered by the road to electrification, the 2oth Anniversary edition is calling your name. Snag it while you can.
