Wild Days shows are free with SeaWorld admission. See full month’s schedule here!
There are a lot of great things to do at SeaWorld San Antonio during Spring Break. When we arrived it was raining bad so they closed the park early but we got a sneak peek at some amazing interactive experiences.
Animal Conservation Center – The Bald Eagle
The Animal Conservation Center is located by the arcade area of SeaWorld San Antonio. In this enclosed exhibit you can meet many different animals as well as the people who take care of them. On our visit we got the entire place to ourselves and go to meet with Star. Star is a juvenile bald eagle. Not fully adult yet we got to see her up close which is a very rare treat. In the Animal Conservation Center they have animal meet and greets throughout the day. For us getting the opportunity to learn about Bald Eagles and what we can do to protect our pets and to help conserve these animals.
The story of Star. Star was found as a baby eagle with her brother. It seems as if either her nest fell or she and her brother fell out of her nest. A raptor center that specializes in assisting these birds to recovery so they can be released into the wild found Star and her brother. They checked the eagles and found that Star’s brother was ok to be released but Star had a fused retina and so this would make it hard for her to survive in the wild. So they brought her to SeaWorld San Antonio to be used to help educate the public. Many of the animals in the conservation center have similar stories like Star. Since Bald Eagles are federally protected there are a lot of rules and regulations with regards to the care for these birds.
The Animal Conservation Center can be a welcome reprieve from the weather outside since it is indoors.
Dine With Shamu
Even though many of the events were rained out they still had the Dine with Shamu experience. Starting at just $36.00 each I thought this was well worth it. We got the opportunity to eat a hot buffet lunch that included ribs, roast chicken, sausage, potatoes, peppers, pasta and salad. Kids also could eat what the adults ate or hot dogs and pasta. The dessert buffet included cookies, cakes and more. Unlimited water and unsweetened Iced tea was at our tables. What I really enjoyed about this experience was how close you were to the killer whales. The trainers would talk to the diners about the whales and you got to know a few of them and see how massive they really are.
Avoid the crowds at lunch time and definitely take advantage of this experience. The food is great and since it is a buffet it is all you can eat. You can also avoid the crowds at the shows by seeing this beautiful animals up close.

My children are having pizza parties tomorrow in honor of Dr. Suess’ 113th Birthday. My son’s favorite book is Green Eggs and Ham. He has been to sick to go to school the past two days so he got to read many of his favorite Dr. Seuss books and even read his favorite book to his doctor at his appointment. March 2 is officially Read Across America Day from the National Education Association and we are so thankful that authors like Dr. Seuss resonate with us when were kids along with our own children.
All the Places we will go
All the places we will go when my son can take along his favorite Dr. Suess story. If you are planning to travel this summer or thinking of a Cruise, Carnival Cruise Line has a wonderful Seuss at Sea Program that approximately 700,000 kids have experienced.
Our friends at Carnival Cruise Line sent us some great goodies to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday and while it is still on its way here I wanted to share some of the fun activities that they have aboard the Carnival Cruise Line.
From a Green Eggs & Ham breakfast to the Seuss-a-Palooza parade, Carnival’s “Seuss at Sea” program entertains all ages and carrying the most kids in the cruising industry.
Once that special birthday box arrives I will be sharing the special recipes and fun with all of you.
Here’s a few things you can expect from a Carnival Cruise Line Seuss at Sea Program:
SEUSS AT SEA
From the whimsical and always wonderful world of Dr. Seuss comes Cats in Hats, Fish Red and Blue, and both kinds of Things — 1 and 2. They’re all on a Carnival cruise near you as the world of Dr. Seuss leaps off the page and onto Carnival’s kids program, Seuss at Sea.
Dr. Seuss’s timeless stories are the kind kids memorize, and this is the kind of cruise you’ll remember for a lifetime. The whole family will still enjoy all the classic Carnival activities, but the littlest ones, and their families, will also enjoy an all-new, extra-special experience as the fantastical world of Dr. Seuss comes to life around them.
Enjoy a special onboard character parade, interactive story time, arts & crafts activities, character breakfast featuring their favorite Dr. Seuss friends and more. Seuss at Sea truly brings your child’s favorite books to life.
GREEN EGGS AND HAM BREAKFAST
Pack your imagination, but don’t forget your appetite as the whole family embarks on a breakfast that’s part meal, and part journey into the deliciously whimsical world of Dr. Seuss.
Sit down to a truly fantastical feast at the Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with The Cat in the Hat and Friends. Bright colors and patterns decorate your table, which features fun and unique menus.
Feast! Feast! Feast! Lose yourself exploring a delicious menu where you’ll find “Green Eggs and Ham,” brightly colored fruit, gravity-defying pancake stacks, funky French toast, “Moose Juice” ‘n “Goose Juice” … and much more. (Classic breakfast offerings are available as well.) Breakfast is also the perfect time to meet and greet the stars of Dr. Seuss — characters will be around for special photo opportunities and fun interactions, making this a meal to remember.
SEUSS-A-PALOOZA STORY TIME
Experience Dr. Seuss books like never before at Seuss-a-palooza Story Time. Watch as your favorite stories come to life in a setting that’s as one-of-a-kind as the Dr. Seuss classics themselves. But don’t just take this one sitting down — as an audience member at Seuss-a-palooza Story Time you’ll find chances to interact as the story unfolds… and perhaps even become a part of the story, yourself! Also, be sure to keep an eye open for unexpected, delightfully costumed guests who may very well be stopping by to make a special appearance…
Stand up and cheer for the Seuss-a-palooza Parade, streaming down the deck of select Carnival ships. Join characters you love — and a flock of your fellow fun followers — as you become part of the spirited procession of the biggest (and smallest) fans on this side of shore. This parade spreads the fun, so go spread the news… and to think that you’ll do it on your Carnival cruise!
Let’s use our imaginations — just think what would happen if we took a normal library and put it through one of Dr. Seuss’s wacky contraptions… set to maximum fun, of course. It would probably come out looking much like Dr. Seuss Bookville, which as you can imagine, is exclusively aboard Carnival! The room is all decked out in bright colors, fun and whimsical furniture and even has some of your all-time favorite Dr.Seuss characters on the walls. But let’s not forget that this space is all about the books — the shelves are filled to the brim for hours of fun reading.
Did you know I am also an independent contractor travel agent? I work with Charlie Brown’s Travel in Plano, Texas. His agency has been around for many years with great reviews and testimonials. I can find you a great Carnival Cruise Line package that works for your family. Just send me a message and I can help get your started. Read more about our travel adventures.
