Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a workout and information session at Curves® with other local bloggers. Curves is celebrating 25 years! (Yay!!!!) Curves kicked off their 25th birthday celebrations by recently announcing that in honor of their 25th birthday, they will gift 25 female veterans $25,000 each toward owning their own Curves club. To learn more about the Curves franchise opportunity veterans gift and to apply, visit www.buycurves.com/veterans.
Years ago, I remember that my mom used to go to Curves. It was something that she did by herself, no kids allowed. I always wondered what happened there and why so many “women” went.
Now that I’ve gone myself, I know why.
No Men. No Makeup. No Mirrors.
Just women, fitting in something cool for themselves, getting stronger than they were yesterday, cheering each other on.
We participated in the 30 minute circuit session. There were no free weights and the program was different than anything I’ve ever done before. There were familiar exercises, a fabulous stretching center and machines that used my body mass to work every major muscle group. I loved it and apparently my body did too — it has been too long with out at good workout.
After the workout and cool-down, we got the scoop on what Curves is offering its members. There are group classes. There’s personalized fitness and weight-loss management. There are also different options to fit your lifestyle, your personality and fitness levels. I loved that I felt right at home and easily set my own pace. And at just 30 minutes, you can pop in, snag a quick workout and literally pop out feeling more energized and a bit stronger than before.
As a cool perk for Dallas Single Mom readers, you can score a free 30 day membership by clicking on the link here.
