Starting today until 08/28 you can score free admission to all National Parks in celebration of the 100th birthday of the National Park Service. My family and I will be visiting the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historic Park this coming Saturday for a wreath laying ceremony to commemorate Johnson’s birthday at the Johnson Family Cemetery. The Park is located in Johnson City, Texas. There are so many great programs for families with the National Park Service. Since my daughter is in the 4th grade she has earned free admission through the Every Kid in a Park program. In this program, your 4th grader fills out a wish list of things they would like to do and they can get their free pass and earn your family some free perks as well. There are also commemorative coins of the centennial. Another program that I like that is tied to the National Parks is their passport program. The passport program provides easy access and information and allows you to collect stamps on your journey.
One hundred years in the making and it’s finally here – the National Park Service centennial!
Today marks the 100th anniversary of when President Woodrow Wilson signed the National ParkService act.
It’s been quite a year of celebrating from the #FindYourPark movement encouraging the next generation of park visitors and supports to the NYC Park Exchange event on Monday with Bill Nye, Questlove and the Secretary of Interior. Another hashtag to follow is #NPS100
Please let me know if you’d like to let your readers know that all national parks are fee-free startingtomorrow until the 28th
