The Summer breezed by, and we have just breezed past back to school and are into settling into the early days of Fall. DallasSingleMom.com is picking up, and I can’t wait to share some of the things that have been happening behind-the-scenes. It’s such fun and about connecting, growing and shaping our spaces — and it is almost ready for you to enjoy. That being said, this is my season. Summer is wicked hot here, and while I love a great sundress, I have to admit these are my favorite days of the year, aside from my birthday, Christmas, my kids birthdays and Thanksgiving. Ok, so I actually probably love any reason to celebrate, gather together and have a great party.
But Autumn has a sweet spot in my heart. I love the proliferation of hot coffee, the scent of cinnamon, warm baking spices, the kiss of smoke in the air, barbeque, college football, cozy knits, Hallmark holidays and strolls in the cool night air combined together, against the sound of my kids laughter, it fills my days and lays the groundwork for great memories.
Also here in North Texas, this is the time of the year that the weather takes a break. We dip into the 70s and start thanking God and all of Creation for a break from the heat. I put on my audiobooks, veg out in my leggings with something delicious, whip out my yarn, hooks and needles and the cozy blankets come out of the closets as the crockpot begins to get a workout. If you have a favorite crockpot soup or family favorite recipe that I should try — be sure to share the love at firstname.lastname@example.org — I love adding new treats to our dinner rotation.
In season, I am looking forward to being present, savoring my life experiences, witnessing my children, trying new things, visiting some local touristy treasures and being open the magic of the ordinary and ready for the extraordinary fabulous that falls into my days.
I hope you are happy, blessed and enjoying your world.
