When it’s spring time we think of spring cleaning and decluttering the house. We get rid of unwanted items and clear out the energy in order to improve our lives. Have you ever thought of getting rid of unwanted pounds or calories? The reason why many people fail to cut calories, portions and pounds is that it doesn’t become a part of their routine. That is the struggle that I had and as I get older it doesn’t get any easier. Like most single moms I’m also a working mom. That means very little time to work out and putting much more importance on portion control and counting calories. A few years ago I had tried Pure Via and was hooked ever since. Our friends at Pure Via have once again contacted me and provided complimentary items in a special Spring Fitness and Nutrition Kickoff Kit. This time not only does the kit include Pure Via’s familiar stevia based sweetener packets but it also contains a few other goodies.
In my quest to cut down on coffee, I have resorted to tea instead. In the packet are some cold infusion teas. It’s very refreshing on a spring day and has very low calories. Like the green tea packet above, this tea contain antioxidants. I thought the flavor was great.
I put the tea in this special PureVia tea ball to ensue we could maximize the tea flavor without sacrificing any of the anti-oxidants. The tea ball was very easy to use.
As I mentioned earlier, you don’t have to take your Pure Via in a power packet. You can also get these conveninent flip top sweeteners. I keep these at my office desk. So easy to just grab and give a quick squeeze. Instantly adds sweetness to your food or beverage.
Use them within a month after opening, they are conveniently sized for the home, for your purse, in the car or at work. I have them at my desk and work and it makes adding sweet to your tea or coffee that much easier.
Stevia is a plant. The full name for Stevia is Stevia Rebuadiana Bertoni. Rebaudioside A (Reb A) is the sweetest and purest extract of the stevia leaf. This natural sweetener is more than 200 times sweeter than sugar. This sweetener has zero calories. A very little goes a long way so there is an adjustment period just to get the right amount of sweetness.
I will even use it on food items such as oatmeal or even some fruit that hasn’t ripened yet. Other things that you can use Pure Via on are:
- Mixed Cocktails
- Cookies and Tarts
- Salads and salad dressings
- Wraps and stir fries

In the pic above I’m having fun with Gumby. When you can be flexible and open to change, cutting portion size and calories are a little easier.
I did notice they also had a vanilla flavoring. This was not my personal favorite but many will enjoy the smooth rich taste. I think I used too much which would explain why it was too sweet to me. However great for a quick flavoring of your coffee and tea without loads of calories. I say use half a squeeze instead of a full squeeze if you don’t like a lot of sweet.
All in all I’m loving how I can count my calories via my diet management program but being able to incorporate this into my regular eating routine gives me confidence that I will cut calories by managing portion controls. You can use it on more than just coffee and tea.
