Heading to Seaworld San Antonio has almost become a yearly birthday tradition for me. Since my birthday is December 2, we typically try to make it down to San Antonio. This year we traveled down to San Antonio on the weekend before Thanksgiving and we spent an afternoon and evening at Seaworld to take part in their annual Seaworld San Antonio Christmas Celebration.
This year, the festivities began on November 18 and will continue to bring holiday cheer until January 2. A great way to spend your holiday the Seaworld San Antonio way. There are so much holiday activities and things to do and you must check out Texas’ largest holiday light displays with 8 million lights and spending the holidays with your favorite animated holiday characters like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and familiar fan favorites like Shamu. It’s over 250 acres of holiday lights and displays. It was really very magical.
We managed to book the Dinner with Rudolph and Friends. With prime rib, texas chili and cornbread and an array of desserts it is worth it to have a peaceful buffet meal and get exclusive photo opportunities with Rudolph, Clarice, Bumble and Yukon.
Other character dining opportunities include the dinner with Santa and Mrs. Clause. You can choose from turkey, roast beef or ham and score a holiday card worthy photo with Santa. In addition to great dining, all around the park you can holiday treats from roasted nuts, crepes, hot chocolate in a souvenir mug and so much more. Definitely a nice treat.
We also got to watch many of our favorite Seaworld San Antonio shows to the delight of my children. Clyde and Seamore’s Countdown to Christmas was a favorite of ours at Sea Lion and Otter Stadium. The entire stage was decked out for the season and it is always a treat to see what shenanigans Clyde and Seamore will be up to. I also like the jokes about the Tony Romo thrown in for fun.
Travel Tip: You can always take a behind the Scenes Tour or get early reserved seating to popular Seaworld San Antonio shows. Prices start anywhere from $15 to $65 depending upon package and it also comes with a lot of freebies so well worth the price. Find out more!
Another favorite of mine is the show Shamu Christmas: Miracles. Experience the power and beauty of the Shamu family with live musicians and singers and a very important and beautiful message. Holiday music soars as Shamu helps us tell a story of reflection and understanding, of peace and friendship, of the everyday miracles that surround us all year long. There’s also Pets Ahoy, Sesame Street Shows, A Beluga Christmas and so much more.
