Beginning January 30 through February 8th you can attend one of the only private boat shows in the country with access to over 20 different boat dealers. Apparently Texas i the #2 boat state in the country behind Minnesota. New innovations, designs and technology await you when you attend the DFW Boat Expo to check out not just boats but also watercraft and three wheelers or recreational vehicles all in one place.
Bron Beal, executive director of the DFW Winter Boat Expo, notes there will be greater variety in use-specific manufacturer packages. “While there will always be a standard fishing or ski package that allows the customer the ability to delete or add a few options targeted to the highest common purchaser, in 2015 we are likely going to see unusual accessories and customization for lifestyle. Comfort and greater maneuverability are wildly popular for boat owners.”
From my experience, marinas are becoming the new resort destinations and Texas has about 70 marinas. A few of my favorites include Lake Whitney, Eagle Mountain Lake and more. North Texas has Lake Lewisville, Lake Ray Hubbard and Joe Pool Marina that come to mind. I have stayed at Lake Travis in Austin and I have found that it’s one of my favorite travel destinations with a nice resort at Lakeway Resort that is also close to a marina.
If you happen to stay at a marina you may also want to purchase your own personal watercraft. Personal watercraft sales should remain strong at the 2015 DFW Winter Boat Expo, primarily because of the price point for new ownership and the introduction of watercraft with lightweight and easy to tow and store designs.
“Watercraft like the Sea-Doo Spark appeal not only to the established hardcore personal watercraft users, but also to many others who didn’t think they could afford or have space to store a watercraft like the Spark,” says Kyle Bell, Sales Manager at Richardson.
With trucks like the brand new 2015 Ford F-150 you can easily haul around your personal watercraft as trucks get better load and towing capacity along with technologies that make hooking up your boat very easy.
