Review: [yasr_overall_rating size=”medium”] A lot of people may not realize this but I moonlighted with an electronic retailer last Christmas to learn everything I could about televisions. Televisions have become an additional member of the family. Family rooms and media rooms are increasingly becoming the social space and the place where most people congregate. I have an increasing passion for technology, especially in the area of home theater and picture quality. I have delved into the areas of learning about 4K Ultra HD and others terms when it comes to selecting a television. A brand new television is the ultimate family gift this holiday and I’m sure with #HintingSeason in full effect this Christmas, many people will be hunting down some great televisions.
I once wrote a post on how to select a television. It’s not a simple process of just selecting a television and plugging it in. You have to consider the space, the shelves, the cords, the AV equipment, the cable box, video game consoles and more that are going to be hooked up to the television. You also have to consider the processing speed, Smart TVs and picture quality. That’s why our friends at Best Buy are the experts in the business and they have a unique television that you have probably not seen before but you may want to add to your Christmas list. The LG OLED TV first came out at Best Buy less than a year ago. You can’t miss it when you stroll into the home theater department. What makes this television unique is that it’s super thin and only a stunning 0.21″ thick at its thinnest point. The LG OLED TV also curves with a spectacular picture quality that includes infinite contract making whites a blazing white and black a very deep black.
Televisions have to use the complete spectrum of color to create blacks and whites. This is why you will sometimes see a program with a black portion of your television look grey or even blue. Check out your television the next time you watch a scary movie and you will see what I mean.

Why care about picture quality?
One of the objections you will get for such a pricey television is why anyone would care about picture quality. Think of the memories you can create on your DSLR and digital cameras. The new GoPro Hero4 is now offering 4K picture quality so wouldn’t you want to be able to actually see those vibrant colors on a television that can produce those colors? These are your family memories or vibrant landscapes that can make anyone a great photographer or videographer. Such is the case with LG’s latest display technology. With deeper and richer colors, stunning contrast and ingeniously curved screens, it is unlike any technology you’ve ever seen, and it delivers a picture that exceeds your wildest imagination. Not only will you get enhanced color range and accuracy along with a super thin design you will also get an intuitive webOS™Smart TV interface that lets you find content faster.

The benefits of a Smart TV
The current television that I have is a Smart TV. I love using it. When sports are on, I can easily go to an interactive smart app and get stats and highlights of the game I’m watching. When breaking news happens I can easily switch to my social media pages like Facebook and Twitter to read about what’s going on. A Smart TV is just a smart decision allowing you to get customized content over the Internet that really caters to what you want at exactly when you want it. Consider a Smart TV to be an upgrade to your television entertainment experience.

You can get the LG OLED 55″ at Best Buy at a $500 discount with Best Buy’s everyday price of $3499.99. That’s a steal! When this TV first came out a year ago, it was retailing at about $5,999.00. The particular model I’m referring to is: LG 55EC9300 SKU# 7846019 but you may want to inquire with the store directly since prices may change.
