Keeping up with your active kids and promoting fitness and wellness doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style, comfort or quality when choosing the right clothes. I have children that run a 5K every month. My son is training for figure skating. All the kids are active in sports and committed to fitness. We are going to try more kids yoga classes and I want to teach them how to cook healthy. This opportunity to review Jill Yoga activewear has arrived just in time while we take advantage of the better weather and stay committed to healthy living. If you are in the market for kid’s or girl’s yoga pants and activewear then consider apparel from Jill Yoga.
Who is Jill Yoga?
Jill Yoga is an athletic line for women and girls in some stores across Canada and the US. Their online boutique offers an array of high quality textiles and designs made for the active child, tween, teen or women. Jill Yoga apparel conform and stretch with every movement, with bold colors and very trendy patterns. Jill Yoga’s mission is to promote confidence and healthy active living – while feeling comfortable with your body and unique shape. There are many colorful designs and color blocking patterns to choose from all at a reasonable price. What my 11-year-old daughter thinks?
We ended up getting the Girls Elastic Trim Cut and Sew Legging and the classic yoga jacket in the color: surf the web. She liked this outfit so much that she says she wants to wear it to school because it’s so fashionable and comfortable. She said she felt secure that the waist was going to fall down since there is a thick elastic waist band.
When she would run it was very comfortable and if she did a flip or a cart-wheel the fabric stretched with each move and she didn’t worry about a “wardrobe malfunction.” While stretching before her run, my daughter said the fabric moved well and during the run we did at the Hurst Rec Center, while it was windy these leggings and the jacket kept her warm during her warm ups.
Where can you buy this apparel? How much does it cost?
In the US you can find this line at select Lord & Taylor stores or shop online via their boutique. Prices are affordable for quality activewear ranging in retail price of $34 for the leggings shown above and $38 for the classic yoga jacket. Check out the Jill Yoga Online boutique for this and other products.
Pricing: Price ranges for leggings at $34 and the yoga jacket from $38.00 and up.

Where are the best places in Dallas-Fort Worth that offer kid’s yoga?
After your kids have gotten their best yoga gear in place why not try some of my favorite places for kids and families to get their yoga on in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
WeYogis – I absolutely love this place and tried some classes here. Located on Lovers Lane in Dallas. They also have locations in Uptown and in Lakewood. They are also opening a new place in Las Colinas in Irving. If you need to do yoga they have childcare. For the kids they have Lil Yogis classes for kids ages 4 to 9 and the Tween Yogis classes for kids ages 8 to 12.
The Yoga Factory – located off of Preston Road in Dallas, the Yoga Factory offers classes for kids and also very inexpensive $5 community classes for kids. This is a great way for kids to learn about yoga and introduce them to fitness. They will learn yoga poses, breathing and drishti through fun and interactive activities. Kids will learn life long techniques to love themselves and one another while learning the positive benefits of being still in the midst of a very busy world.
FlyKids Yoga – located in Southlake, Texas, this is the first yoga studio in Southlake devoted to kids. They offer weekly classes, camps, glow in the dark yoga parties and other types of yoga themed fun. They offer memberships and drop in rates for classes. The goal for this studio is to promote positive body awareness, improved self-esteem, strength, flexibility, breath awareness and emotional awareness are just a few of them. They also have special events like Family Yoga, Downward Doll Yoga (decorate a yoga mat for your doll and learn poses together), and Gong meditation.
Satvik Yoga – located in Irving, Texas they have yoga classes for kids as well as summer camps. They have weekly classes of 45 minutes in length. In addition they have ayurvedic cooking classes for kids. A great place to introduce healthy living to kids.
Fit Family | Yogi Kids – Based in Flower Mound, Texas Yogi Kids offers yoga, pilates, zumba and many other movement activities for kids. Yoga for kids reduces stress and anxiety and boosts confidence and self-esteem. They have after school activities, daycare, birthday parties, summer camps and more.
Online Yoga Programs, Apps and activities
If you can’t find a yoga studio near you, try these apps, YouTube channels and DVDs. Here are a few I have found:
- Yoginos for Youth – they have DVD’s and classes available in different states and in Mexico. A few years ago they released a few DVD’s for kids on yoga.
- Cosmic Kids – Subscribe to their YouTube channel where they have fun yoga activities for kids that take kids on many different adventures.
- Gaia.com – Head to Gaia.com and see all the different kids yoga videos and activities.
