15+ Memorable Closing Gifts from Realtors That Buyers Will Love

Advice· Inspiration· Wealth

If you work as a realtor, then a great closing gift can really set you apart from the competition. We take a look at 15 inspirational ideas for closing gifts.

Buying a home can be one of the most stressful events in a person’s life. In fact, a study conducted by Homes.com has shown that 40% of the American population have found that to be true. The study also revealed that 33% of people have been brought to tears by the process.

You have been with your client throughout this entire life-changing event and now it’s finally time to close. Closing gifts serve to show your appreciation and can leave a lasting impression with your clients. You can be sure that when asked if they know a good real estate agent, your name will certainly pop up.

People remember how you made them feel. Choosing the right realtor closing gifts will have your clients referring you to family and friends for many years to come.

Closing Gifts That Show Your Appreciation

Showing your appreciation will help maintain your relationships with your clients and help you to continue to build upon them. How much you spend can depend on the amount of the sale, but it may also depend on the size of your business. If you are just starting out, you may not have much money to spend. Whatever amount you spend, you need to make it personal and thoughtful.

Fresh Flowers Delivered Monthly

It’s a fact that flowers brighten up a person’s mood and lifts their spirit. And freshly-cut flowers look good in any home. A closing gift of fresh flowers delivered monthly to their new home via subscription is the perfect stress relief for new homeowners.

Meal Delivery Service

A new homeowner is extremely busy unpacking and setting up their new home. It can feel overwhelming just finding time to make a meal or to make that trip to the grocery store. A subscription to a food box or meal delivery service that comes right to their door can be a godsend during this stressful time. You could even stop over the house on moving day with pizza and beverages for everyone. Be sure that you remember to bring paper plates!

Moving Day Help

Moving day is extremely stressful. Once all the furniture and boxes arrive, it can feel overwhelming and feel impossible. Hire a service for your client that will help unpack and clean for them. This will take the stress off and won’t be soon forgotten.

Technology for the Home

New homeowners would love to have a smart home but find they can’t afford it. If you know that your clients are into the latest tech gadgets, getting them an Amazon Echo or Google Home can be a start to their smart home.

Gift Cards

Although buying a home these days is more affordable than it was, money can be tight. A gift card to the local home improvement store or for the local big box retail store can help when pinching pennies.

A Local Historic Map Framed

If your client has relocated, finding a historic map of their new city can connect them and help them feel like part of the area. When framed and displayed in their home, it will certainly become a talking piece. When asked where they got it, you can be sure your name will come up. What a way to make a great impression and no branding needed!

Unique Portrait of the New Home

An original watercolor or print of the client’s new home is a lovely gift. You can add their name and add an endearing quote.

A Fun Local Event

Because experiences are remembered more than material things, you can gift them an adventure that involves an event in the local area. This will help to get them familiar with the area and create memories that will last forever.

Treat Them to Dinner

Who doesn’t love dinner at a nice restaurant? You can opt to take your clients out to dinner or give them a gift card for your favorite restaurant. Be sure to recommend your favorite dishes. If they have children, go the extra mile and make the arrangements for a reliable sitter, especially if they are new to the area.

An Interior Design Consultation

If you know that your client is struggling with how to decorate, you could schedule an appointment with a local designer. The designer can help them to choose the perfect colors for the walls, help to arrange the furniture and give them any other advice to help make their new space just right.

Pet Basket

If your client has a pet they treat like one of their own children, you could send them a basket filled with pet treats, snacks, and toys. If you aren’t sure of what to get, a monthly subscription for a pet box delivered may be even better.

Gardening Supplies with a Tree to Plant

Planting a tree that you gifted your client means that you will be remembered for years to come. An added touch would be to include a metal plaque with the date of closing and a quote wishing them prosperity that they can hang on the tree as it grows.

Personalized Name and Address Plate

A personalized exterior address sign to hang by the front door is a welcoming touch to your client’s new home. You can do a search online and find stores that are filled with custom made products and personalized handmade items. While you are searching, you might want to consider other personalized gifts as well. You can find personalized rustic wall art, door mats, coffee mugs (or these cute thermoses), key chains, cutting boards and so much more.

Housewarming Party

Hosting a housewarming party for your client after they have their home all set up can be a real treat for them. You can get the guest list from the client. You can also invite people from the neighborhood that you know. This gives the buyers a chance to meet their new neighbors and get you leads in the process.

Couples Massage

To help relieve some of the stress involved with buying a home, a gift certificate for a relaxing massage, a facial or even a day pass at the local spa is just the ticket.

A Few Standbys if You Still Have No Idea What to Get

If your client is difficult to read and you are still in doubt about what to get, here are a few tried and true ideas that you can use for those hard to buy for clients:

Tool Box

A new homeowner will have plenty of opportunities to fix things around the house. A toolbox is something that will be used forever and it’s a great gift for both male and females.

Gift Basket Filled with Household Goods

You can fill this basket with goods that every homeowner will need. Add dish towels, candles, soaps, paper towels and any other household item you think will be useful. You can even slip in local takeout menus or even a gift card for the local pizza parlor.

Wine and Glasses

You can give your client a bottle of their favorite wine or champagne to make a toast to their new home. Odds are their wine glasses are packed up so be sure to include a couple of wine glasses, so they won’t have to dig through boxes.

Coffee Maker

Some real estate agents may be uncomfortable giving alcoholic beverages to clients. A high-quality coffee maker is the perfect substitute. You can include some fresh coffee beans and a “his and her” coffee mug set if your client is a married couple.

Potted Flowers

Although freshly cut flowers look beautiful in a home, they don’t last long. When you give a potted flower, your gift may last for weeks or even years. Be sure to find a flower that is easy to care for.

Brainstorming Closing Gift Ideas

You should have gotten to know your clients pretty well throughout this journey. Now it’s time to brainstorm and choose from the many real estate closing gifts ideas that we have put together. Before you make your final decision, consider these rules of etiquette when you need to find the perfect closing gift for your client:

Do not brand your gift. This is tacky and a sure-fire way to have your gift stuffed away or even thrown in the trash. You need to make your gift all about the client.

You most certainly have noticed your client’s habits, hobbies, passions, and needs. Make sure you gift them something they will enjoy.

Depending on the gift, present it in person. Drop in or call ahead and see how they are getting along. This will make your gift even more perfect.

Remember that you can deduct a portion of the cost from your taxes. Be sure that you save all receipts.

Closing gifts from realtors make a lasting impression and can get you referrals for years to come. Butthese gifts must be carefully thought out and planned.

A customized gift will show just how much you value your client and won’t come off as just a business transaction. By using these ideas, you can be sure that your clients will feel appreciated and you will be remembered positively.

The rowdie 2023 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel's cabin is an excellent, luxurious place to call home. Premium materials, solid ergonomics, and Uconnect 5. The light-duty and heavy-duty pickup truck segments are fiercely competitive, but for years now Ram interiors have been the best.

Crushing on this week’s #DSMDrive. Back home from DC and met this beauty. It’s the G90 AWD 3.5T E-Supercharger from @GenesisUSA. Our first introduction was on the rainy highways of Dallas and in traffic from Love Field and so far the details, the tech and drive are outstanding.
