5 Things for Your Go-Bag as a Parent with Little Kids

Co-Parenting· Single Mom Life

If you’re a parent with kids, then you know that having the essentials is key to keeping your sanity. From diapers and wipes to clothes and food, there are some things that you should always have on hand. Here are 4 for your list:

First Aid Kit

A first aid kit is essential for any family with or without kids. From cuts and scrapes to fevers and flu, a first aid kit can help you treat various common illnesses and injuries. Make sure to include items like bandages, gauze pads, adhesive tape, antibiotic ointment, wound care supplies, thermometer, aspirin or ibuprofen, and cold packs in your kit. If you don’t have one already, consider purchasing a pre-made first aid kit or putting together your own based on your family’s needs. You can also add extras like safety pins, tweezers, scissors, mouthwash/gargle solution, and extra prescription medications if needed.

Diapers And Wipes

Even if you’re not potty training your little one, it’s a good idea to have diapers and wipes on hand. Diapers come in handy for everything from overnight trips to the hospital to long car rides. And who can forget about those inevitable blowouts? Wipes are a must-have for cleaning up messes of all sizes. Stock up on both disposable and cloth diapers, as well as travel-sized packs of wipes, so you’re always prepared when accidents happen. Additionally, consider keeping a changing pad and some baby clothes in your diaper bag for when you’re on the go.

Food And Snacks

It’s no secret that kids can be picky eaters. And when you’re constantly on the go, it can be hard to make sure your little one is getting enough nutritious food. That’s why it’s essential to have a good selection of healthy snacks on hand. Choose snacks that are high in protein and fiber, like nuts and seeds, yogurt, cheese, whole-grain crackers, or fruit and vegetables. You can also pack sandwiches or wraps for easy snacking on the go. In addition to food, it’s also helpful to have drinks like water and juice boxes available for your kids. If you’re out and about and don’t have access to a beverage cooler, try packing frozen water bottles or ice packs to keep drinks cold.

A Change Of Clothes

Accidents happen, and when they do, it’s always good to have a spare set of clothes on hand. Whether your child spits up all over their shirt or has an epic potty-training fail, having a change of clothes will save you from having to run home in the middle of the day. Make sure to pack at least one outfit for each member of your family, as well as some extra socks and underwear. You can also keep a small bag packed with emergency clothes in your car or diaper bag.

By stocking up on these essentials, you’ll be prepared for anything that comes your way.
