He Ordered a Christmas Gift and Couldn’t Believe What Arrived

Holiday shopping can feel like a race against the calendar, and nothing fuels that stress quite like a delivery that goes wrong. One man in the UK thought he was doing everything right by ordering his Christmas gift early. Instead of the parcel he was expecting, he ended up holding something that looked more like an inside joke than a delivery.

David Oliver Jordan shared his strange experience online after a Royal Mail delivery turned up at his address in a plastic bag. Inside was not a damaged box or a torn envelope, but a flat piece of cardboard. It was, as he described it, essentially empty, and it came across as a baffling stand-in for a missing present.

In his video, David wondered if anyone else had dealt with the same mystery. He said the cardboard arrived with a message on the front, yet the actual gift was nowhere to be found. The moment was equal parts funny and frustrating, because it created a new problem instead of solving the first one.

Trying to get answers only made the situation feel worse. David explained that calls to customer service dragged on, with long stretches of waiting before he reached anyone at all. When he finally got through, he was told the issue would be handled, but the promised follow-up never arrived. Days later he tried again, listened to the hold music for another long stretch, and eventually gave up out of sheer exhaustion.

Hoping a real person might have a clearer explanation, he asked his postal worker what to do next when she came by with the mail. According to David, she apologised and said she did not know what steps would actually move the case forward. He was left with the impression that anything arriving in a plastic bag had to be delivered that way if it was considered damaged, even if what remained was practically nothing.

By the end of it, David still did not know where his parcel had gone, only that his supposed replacement was a useless piece of cardboard. Viewers in the comments urged him to contact the retailer he ordered from, since the seller may be able to resend the item or help chase the shipment from their side.
