A bride in Kansas City started her wedding morning feeling anything but glowing, and her story has since taken off online. Madeline Woodrome, 29, said she went into her big weekend after avoiding alcohol for 90 days, only to decide to let loose the night before her ceremony. What followed was a chaotic wake up call, plus a last minute recovery plan that turned into a viral moment with more than 1.6 million views on TikTok.
Woodrome explained that it all began after the rehearsal dinner, when “relaxing” quickly turned into overdoing it. By the time she woke up, she was still in her dress, with her makeup on, earrings in, and hair extensions still in place. In the video she shared, she also showed a Snapchat message she sent to friends while realizing just how rough she felt. It was the kind of morning where excitement and dread can exist at the same time.
She described waking up feeling scared, thrilled, nauseous, and still a little drunk, which is not exactly the mindset most brides imagine. She remembered thinking that this should be the best day of her life, yet she could barely open her eyes. That was the moment she knew she needed help fast. Her now husband stepped in and urgently arranged an IV infusion to get her back on her feet.

The plan worked, but not without more drama. Woodrome went to a salon for the infusion, only to run into a scheduling problem when her hairstylist had to leave for an appointment with another bride before the treatment was finished. With no better option, she continued the infusion in her car in the salon parking lot for another 30 minutes, sitting beside the IV stand. Later, she joked that anyone walking by probably had no idea what was happening. She even added a B12 shot in hopes of boosting her energy.
Thankfully, she said she started to feel better fairly quickly, and the rest of the day improved as adrenaline kicked in. By the time she walked down the aisle, she felt like herself again. Despite the shaky start, she said she still ended up having the wedding of her dreams.
In the comments, plenty of people shared their own stories about surviving wedding day chaos. One commenter named Shelby said her husband also needed an IV on their wedding day after things got out of hand during a trip to Mexico, even though they thought they had made smart choices. Others chimed in with blunt honesty, saying they could see themselves in Woodrome’s situation or admitting they spent their own wedding morning throwing up before pulling it together.
