Christmas wouldn’t feel quite the same without yet another rewatch of Home Alone, and for many of us, the movie’s most recognizable “character” after Kevin is the red-brick house that sets the whole story in motion. If you’ve ever caught yourself admiring that familiar facade, you’re not alone. One Croatian TikTok creator decided to bring the iconic home off the screen and onto the dessert table, and the result looks uncannily real.
Pastry creator and TikToker Luce Šipić, known online as Lucina Spiza, shared a fully edible 3D cake designed to resemble Kevin McCallister’s house in meticulous detail. It’s not just a flat illustration on fondant. The structure is built as a miniature set piece, complete with windows, doors, and the instantly recognizable exterior that fans can spot in a second.
This isn’t Šipić’s first time making the internet stop scrolling. Earlier this autumn, she drew attention for an art-inspired cake based on Van Gogh’s The Starry Night, a project that reportedly took her 22 hours to finish. The new holiday build shows the same patience and craftsmanship, only this time she swapped swirling skies for movie-night nostalgia.

In her video, she explains that she usually makes a gingerbread house every year, but this season that tradition didn’t feel challenging enough. So she chose to “complicate things” in the best way, creating a 3D version of Kevin’s house and even adding lighting to make it glow. That extra touch pushes it from impressive cake to full-on edible display.
The construction process is as satisfying as the final reveal. She stacked layers of sponge and cream, then carefully carved out the window openings. The roof was shaped from leftover sponge and filling, turning scraps into a clever building material. Once the windows and doors were cut, she threaded tiny lights through the openings so the house would actually shine from within, then finished it all with the brick-like facade the home is famous for.
Online, viewers praised her precision and persistence, and it’s easy to see why. The cake feels like a playful tribute to a holiday classic while also showing how far baking as a creative medium can go. It’s part architecture, part nostalgia, and part pure festive joy, all wrapped up in something you can slice and serve.
