Timothée Chalamet’s Off-White Prada Suit Is a Modern Take on Old Hollywood Glamour

Timothée Chalamet turned the 32nd Annual Actor Awards into a genuine family affair on Sunday, March 1, bringing his mother, Nicole Flender, as his date for the evening. The 30-year-old actor, who has had Kylie Jenner by his side for much of this year’s awards circuit, chose to honor his mother instead, and the result was one of the most talked-about red carpet moments of the night. The pair arrived coordinated yet contrasting, with Chalamet cutting a sharp figure in a monochromatic Prada ensemble consisting of an off-white blazer and shirt paired with black trousers. Flender complemented him in a vibrant pink gown, and together they made a striking impression against the ceremony’s glamorous backdrop.

The two shared several tender moments in front of the cameras, including a charming exchange in which Chalamet presented his mother with a single rose. It was exactly the kind of quiet, genuine gesture that tends to cut through the noise of a big awards night and remind audiences why they root for a particular star. Flender has been a visible and enthusiastic supporter throughout her son’s ‘Marty Supreme’ awards run, having also attended the film’s New York premiere back in December. At that premiere, she famously kept to an all-orange dress code alongside Chalamet and Jenner, a detail that had already endeared her to fans following the film’s rollout.

The 32nd Actor Awards also marked the first year the ceremony introduced an official dress code, put together with fashion partner ELLE magazine. The theme, “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour from the ’20s and ’30s,” called on attendees to draw from an era defined by structured elegance and bold cinematic expression. Chalamet’s minimalist off-white Prada suit offered a distinctly modern interpretation of the classic studio-era look, setting him apart from the sea of traditional black tuxedos on the carpet. It was a confident sartorial choice that nodded to the theme without being overly literal about it.

While Jenner was absent from the red carpet this time, she has remained a consistent presence throughout the awards season. The couple drew significant attention at the BAFTA Awards in London on February 22, where they arrived coordinated in matching black looks. Earlier in the season, at the Golden Globes, Chalamet made a point of acknowledging those closest to him during his acceptance speech. “For my parents, for my partner, I love you. Thank you so much,” he told the audience, pausing to reflect on what he called the sweetness of his recent success.

Chalamet was at the Actor Awards with two nominations to his name, one for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role and another for the film’s ensemble cast. ‘Marty Supreme,’ the A24 sports drama directed by Josh Safdie, has been one of the defining cultural releases of the past several months. In it, Chalamet plays Marty Mauser, a fictionalized version of real-life table tennis legend Marty Reisman, tracing the ping-pong prodigy’s rise through 1950s New York. The film features a memorable supporting cast that includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, the Creator, and Fran Drescher.

Looking ahead, Chalamet’s year shows no sign of slowing down. He is currently in post-production for ‘Dune: Part Three,’ the final chapter of Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s saga, which is scheduled for a December 18 theatrical release. The film will adapt ‘Dune Messiah’ and once again reunite Chalamet with Zendaya and Florence Pugh as Paul Atreides faces the full weight of the power he has accumulated. On top of that, Chalamet has been preparing for his role in the James Mangold thriller ‘High Side,’ in which he plays a former MotoGP racer who becomes entangled in a dangerous heist, a role that reportedly demanded intensive motorcycle training throughout late 2025. Between a ping-pong prodigy and a sand-planet messiah, it seems there is very little this actor will not throw himself into completely.

The Actor Awards began in 1994 when the Screen Actors Guild expanded its recognition to honor film and television performances exclusively chosen by fellow performers, making it one of the few major awards voted on entirely by peers within the acting community. Marty Reisman, the real man behind ‘Marty Supreme,’ was known for playing with a hardbat paddle at a time when the sport had largely moved on to sponge rubber, refusing to change his style even as it cost him championships. Prada’s off-white suiting has quietly become one of the house’s most recurring red carpet signatures in recent years, appearing on a striking number of Hollywood’s younger leading men across major ceremonies.
