You may have read the study that came out in Consumer Reports about the level of Arsenic found in baby formula via an ingredient called brown-rice syrup. Though arsenic is around us because it’s in naturally occurring groundwater, the harms it can cause to babies has not been measured but one can make the guess that exposing little bodies to a deadly poison like arsenic may impact them in some way.
So I have been searching around trying to figure out if the infant formula I feed my child has this brown rice syrup in it.
Formulas that do NOT contain brown rice syrup are:
Enfamil – Family of Meade Johnson Products
Similac – From Abbott Infant formulas
Simply Right – Walmart and Sam’s Club Brand
Gerber Good Start
Bright Beginnings Organic
Formulas that DO contain brown rice syrup include:
Baby’s Only Organic Dairy Toddler Formula
Baby’s Only Organic Soy Toddler Formula, both made by Nature’s One.
As a parent, it is still your choice and Nature’s One stands behind their product via this media statement. Parents should use their own judgment or check with their pediatrician.
