Looking for a spot that can double as date night or something fun to do with the kids? Take a peek at EarthxFilm Festival happening coming this weekend to Fair Park and theatres around Dallas the week of April 13 – 22. Formerly Earth Day Texas, EarthxFilm is bringing to Dallas a full slate of films and VR Presentations for at the environmentally themed film festival. This weekend’s activities follow a full kick-off week of special screenings and events to culminate in a visual, sensory experience that explores the effect of nature, our environment and the communities that nature touches. There will also be a focus on the people that are working on the front lines to protect it, the animals and creatures that live in it, and makes an effort to carry audiences all around the world to get a first-hand view of lands, and waters around the world that surprisingly has a direct effect on what is going on in our own backyards.

Guests have the opportunity to take in 21 feature films, 33 shorts, 19 mixed reality films and a shorts series that is perfect for family or for date night. I asked John of FestWorks (a film festival guru) for some of the savvy, cool tips on must-sees.
THE GAME CHANGERS – for the vegan who’d like to convince his or her partner to do it as well (especially if it’s a she trying to convince a he…)
RODENTS OF UNUSUAL SIZE – Yes, it’s about the fight against the nutria (very large rats) in Louisiana, but it’s also a cool, and fun snap shot of a whole ‘nother country, as they say…
INVENTING TOMORROW – Genius kids. You watch this and think, well maybe there is some hope of the next round of people taking their turn at ruling the world.

Inventing Tomorrow
There is so much more to see than just these three. There will be music, food, exhibits and experiences that will make it a memorable weekend and an out of the ordinary time. For more details, see here.
