Ewan McGregor’s love of life on two wheels has become the stuff of legend. With a recent show, The Long Way Round with his best friend, Charley Boorman, on AppleTV, it’s no surprise that one of his collection would come to market.
The Ebay Motors Marketplace was tapped to auction the custom 1973 Moto Guzzi V7Sport. The gorgeous burgundy and raw aluminum bike was hand-built by Powerplant Motorcycles in Los Angeles for the London-based Bike Shed Show. The motor bike was gently restored with a rebuilt motor with a freshly balanced Moto Guzzi T3 crankshaft, high compression pistons, restored gauges, and a Hjeltness V7Sport seat cover.
The early 70s styling comes through in the design and the look is one that inspires the rider to experience the open air and come for a drive. Lighter than Moto Guzzi’s entry level model, it is the brand’s first recognized V-twin sporting machine, and a beloved favorite among enthusiasts.
