Chicago will open it’s doors to welcome a very special summer edition of the Chicago Auto Show on July 15-19 at McCormick Place.
After much consideration and planning the teams behind the Chicago Auto Show and McCormick place have put together a program and event that will take advantage of the July weather and expand opportunities to utilize the more of the outdoor space.
Some of the plans for this year’s show include with an exclusively electronic ticketing process. Guests will be able to select their chosen date and time, which will allow show organizers to ‘carefully control crowd capacity throughout each event day’.
This online system will also give attendees the opportunity to pre-register for the cool activations that take advantage of the expansion into the West building and outdoors with several test tracks and ride-and-drive events. This registration process will also create a system to diminish lines and reduce congestion around and within exhibits.
Also, Chicago Auto Show organizers are currently seeking approval from the City to continue with plans to transform the nearby Indiana Avenue into an automotive street festival during the evening on several show days. It would be an interesting innovation that would include local food, music, entertainment and lots of shiny new vehicles to enjoy.
“As you can tell, the timing has allowed us to get creative and try new things, and the automakers have really embraced it. We can’t wait to show it to you. Here’s to a safe and successful 2021 Chicago Auto Show!”Dave Sloan, Chicago Auto Show
