The roll up to back to school this year has been filled with preparation, debate and the unique added element navigating this stage of the pandemic. There are many questions to be answered, decisions to be made on a variety of levels and each school district is handling the season a bit differently.
For my Dallas ISD families, here’s the scoop:
School starts on September 8th. The Board of Trustees voted in July to move back the date, and you can get quick links for easy up-to-date information here.
There will be a Dallas ISD Board of Trustees briefing happening 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2020 district leaders and trustees will discuss reopening plans in detail. You can watch the meeting live online in English and Spanish. The Dallas ISD team invites all Dallas ISD parents to attend the Smart Restart Virtual Parent Conference happening Aug. 11–13 and Aug. 18–20.
Here is a copy of the Parent’s Re-Entry School Guide. Take a few minutes to read it and get acquainted with the protocols for students, parents and staff. It will be helpful as parents navigate this season of new normals.Education-Evolution-Parent-Booklet072220
