Share the love with a couples massage at Green Lotus Spa & Wellness Center

Dallas· Health· Mom's Fitness

Deep in the hustle and bustle of the Dallas/Fort Worth suburb of Colleyville, Texas and just minutes from DFW Airport is a newly opened spa and wellness center called the Green Lotus Spa and Wellness Center  offering top tier treatments such as a couples massage and a strong commitment to the environment. The hustle and bustle of single mom life in Dallas-Fort Worth make it close to impossible for me to schedule in any kind of massage, me time or relaxation time. With Christmas around the corner, both Dallas Single Dad and I have not had a chance to buy each other any kind of gift. We were happy to get the opportunity to visit the spa and experience two treatments. We got to try the “Share the Love” Swedish side by side massage and the Himalayan Foot Ritual with Himalayan salt scrub to talk about on the blog. I was blown away by a few things about the Green Lotus Spa in Colleyville and considering they just opened and I want to detail all of those things in this post but I wanted to talk about my reservations on getting a couple’s massage.

Our First Couples Massage

This would be the first couple’s massage I have ever received in my life. This is not something I do. I consider the spa experience to be very much a private experience for me so considering that Dallas Single Dad and I have only been dating for 9 months, I was a little  no make that a LOT nervous about it. For many couples 9 months seems like a long time but as single parents we tend to take dating milestones very slowly and  this was one of them. I thought it would be odd or awkward because he would be in the same room as me, but all of those fears quickly dissipated. I barely remember him there I was so relaxed and when we were able to talk it was great to be able to socialize and talk about things. Of course as bloggers and parents we could not put our phones down but we enjoyed the many treatment rooms and the little details about the decor and atmosphere of the center.

Green Lotus Spa in Colleyville

Share the Love side by side Swedish Massage

With options of choosing 50 minutes ($170)  or 80 minutes ($200), this side by side massage is not just for couples but also for bridal showers, mother daughter events, spa parties and more. As a couple we enjoyed this all over body massage and you get to choose light, medium or firm touch. The aromatherapy oils they used during the treament were great and the two therapists were really in synch. I had female therapist and DSD had a guy. It was Dallas Single Dad’s first time getting a massage and he did comment about having a guy massage therapist because he was worried about having a guy massage him but he said afterward he didn’t really notice it as a big deal and got a full fledged massage. The only massages he ever got were for physical therapy and injuries so getting the lotions and aromatherapy with the Share the Love treatment was different for him. The other perk was that we were together.

Check In and the Meditation room

I thought the check in process was pretty standard. In the locker room, you get undressed and you have the option to shower. I really liked the robes as they were very soft and fluffy. Then you wait in the meditation rooms to fill out the release forms all on iPad tablets. There they will offer you a beverage and you can kneel down on tatami mats to meditate and clear your mind. This is where your therapist meets you. I thought the Tatami Mats were a nice touch and I learned so much about them.

Colleyville Spa
Himalayan Foot Ritual

After our massages we both sat side by side in a room with separate bowls by which we both could get a Himalayan Foot Ritual ($65 per person) treatment that lasted about 30 minutes. I enjoyed this experience a lot as we got to soak our feet in warm water with Himalayan salt scrub, green tea, and dried rose petals acting as an exfoliant. The Himalayan salt is a pink salt and a very pure salt as it is taken from the Himalayan mountains with no impurities. I really enjoyed this salt so much I bought jars of it for my friends. With the use of hot stones and foot massage I really thought this was also a great treatment if you are strapped for time and want a spa treatment that is a skin softener.

Once we finished our treatments we were glad we could go back to the locker rooms to shower and get dressed. It was a very positive experience and we could check out the other products and services they had to offer. There are a few treatments that I would like to try and those include the following:

For Moms to Be  the Mother Earth (Prenatal Massage $95 – $120) sounds like the right kind of therapy for expectant mothers in their second and third trimesters. This is a must have treatment for aches, pains and relieving stress with trained prenatal massage therapists.

Shirodhara ($115) is an ayurvedic therapy that involves the pouring of liquids and in this case warm and aromatic oil on your forehead and at many spas they will massage your head, neck and back in the process. It is traditionally a very meditative experience and this is a time when you can meditate and just focus on the liquid pouring on your forehead.

Himalayan Salt Scrub ($95)- if you want your whole body to be silky smooth then having the Himalayan salt scrub for an entire body scrub might be the ticket. This is definitely something I would want to try and your partner will love the feel of your skin afterwards. Also without any impurities you aren’t putting any into your skin.

There are so much more offerings to choose from that I suggest checking the Green Lotus Spa and Wellness Center webiste for seasonal specials along with their entire menu. I really enjoyed the small touches this spa had from the large lotus painted on the wall, to the meditation room and the extra care they put into the treatments. It is very noticeable. You can conveniently book online and also get gift cards and e-gift cards so it’s not too late to get a last minute spa gift either printable or via email. When you order you can choose a dollar amount or a specific treatment and for a limited time you can purchase 4 gift cards and get one for free.

With two locations to choose from in Dallas and Colleyville. For each treatment purchased a tree gets planted in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil.

Green Lotus Spa and Wellness Center is located at: 6201 Colleyville Blvd, Ste 200, Colleyville, Texas 76034
