Modern, versatile, suited for family or solo and ready for wherever the road might take you, the 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE is an SUV that will become a driver’s best friend. We spent the week with the RAV4 Hybrid XSE in North Texas. While in it, we embraced the perspective change from our everyday pickups and found that there are several things about the RAV4 Hybrid that we positively adored.
Now on to the things that you will love.
From the elegant style, the modern shape, the excellent mileage, interior creature comforts to the absolutely divine safety and driver assistance tech, the 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XSE is a rather fabulous addition to the SUV market. It is no surprise that RAV4 was a winner in the SUV category at the 2020Texas Truck Rodeo Invitational.
Expect A Positively Gorgeous Package
From first glance, the 2020 RAV4 is a smart looking car. The streamlined exterior has clean lines and generous proportions that draw eye from the roof rack across the gentle curves of the dash to off-set LED lighting and the smoky grey grille landing smoothly on the 18” five spoke alloy wheels. It just plain looks cool, and in the Blueprint shade with Midnight Black accents — it’s a stunner bringing a welcome bit of delight to mom-mode.
Excellent Mileage and a Smooth, Quiet Drive
As families are getting more budget and consumption conscious, fuel efficiency is a definite must on many auto wish lists. I was absolutely delighted to find that the Rav4 gets around 40 mpg due to the beauty of being a hybrid. This vehicle runs on a 2.5 L 4 cylinder engine paired with the electric continuous variable transmission and electric on-demand all wheel drive — which basically means you’ll have a fuel-efficient, quiet drive with a little get-up-and-go when you need it. I found that the transitions were smooth, and that the drive was almost silent, which is an absolute boon for napping kids and people that want and desire the sanctuary of a beautiful drive.
Perfectly Suited for a Small Family, Easily Seats 5
A shade larger than a crossover, but perfectly suited to 4-5 passengers with plenty of trunk and cargo space for all the gear of life, hearth and home, the 2020 RAV4 Hybrid XSE is a comfortable ride with dreamy, SofTex-trimmed body contouring seats. All passengers will enjoy the pretty fantastic panoramic moon roof, automatic dual zone air conditioning and rear vents for the comfort of the back seat passengers. Front seat passengers will enjoy heated seating with a power-controlled driver’s seat. Parents will love that the LATCH system is easy to access, the anchors are not complicated to use or find and the seats fold with one-handed ease.
Publisher Teia Collier Touch button power trunk access. Plenty of space. A view from inside. With family in tow.
We also found that we adored the sound system in this one. The Audio-Plus system brings a surround sound effect to the interior of this SUV. With six speakers and a 8” touch screen infotainment panel that easily syncs to hands-free data access. The RAV4 easily connected to Apple Carplay and Android Auto with minimal effort, and drivers will also have the option of connecting via Bluetooth, as well.
Brilliant Safety Technology

Seamless and confidence inducing, the Toyota Safety Sense system is probably one of my protective auto enhancement favorites. I love it because it is driver-friendly and un-intrusive. I also adore that I can see what systems have kicked in right on the dash. Encompassing standard pre-collision system that uses dynamic radar to detect pedestrians and smart tech to help you be the best driver that you can with automatic high beams, lane tracing and steering assist.
At a Great Price Point
