Trying to recap my weekend is a bit like trying to stuff too much into a suitcase. No matter how much you fold, refold it all just won’t fit. My weekends are busy as I’m not only a single mom but I have a day job and I own a few online businesses. There are deadlines to meet, bills to be paid along with a host of other obligations that typically make up for a busy weekend in the world of Dallas Single Mom.
As I reflect this Monday morning, I’m kind of proud of the outfit I’m wearing. This is a very Rising Sign Taurus thing to say. My skirt might be short but that’s just because my butt is too big so for everyone in the office consider it an early Christmas present. Check out my style below. I call it, Mars in Scorpio Monday Morning.
Collaborations and Partnerships
Earlier in the day I posted a song that exemplified the astrological energies of the past weekend. “The Takedown” by Girl on Fire was a great choice. There have been so many fantastic songs popping into my head and they all exemplify a certain part of my life that it’s hard to choose just one. So I decided to take that musical, creative and artistic talents to a whole new level. Soon there will be an addition to the Dallas Single Mom suite of lifestyle blogs. I don’t have a name yet but a blogging buddy of mine, Holly Montez will debut a new site catered towards music, poetry, fashion, urban art and creativity. You will love it. I will help contribute and put forth some of my deepest, darkest thoughts and artistic endeavors on her site. It’s a fantastic collaboration of sugar and spice. All of this is possible because I am now a Web Hosting Reseller with Hostgator.
Part of the reason for becoming a web host reseller was mainly to create more bandwidth and security for this site, but it also presents an opportunity to sell domains, sell website development in my portfolio, give away hosting to charities/nonprofits and to give free web hosting to those wishing to start a website of their own who have taken classes or consultations from me. Pretty sweet deal!
Hercules in 3D
I got to see the movie Hercules in 3D at the AMC Grapevine Theaters. I have watched Planes: Fire and Rescue this week and I ended up buying an AMC Stubs membership. I’m not sure if I will get the value of it but you get $10 in rewards for every $100 you spend and you get free size upgrades for popcorn and drinks. What I like about this is that since I do the fork and screen (dine in) at these theaters then I will earn rewards quickly.
I enjoy the Greek myth Hercules and to be quite honest I only watched this movie because Dwayne the Rock Johnson was in it. I love him and I have stated that he embodies some of the physical characteristics of my perfect man. Baby B watched her first 3D movie seeing Hercules and it was cute to have a date night with her. She tried to grab the screen. Unlike her older sister she got the idea that you need to wear the glasses to enjoy the movie. The movie was all right. I have seen so many Hercules movies that you get the plot. The point is Hercules must accept his fate as Zeus son. My favorite part was when Hercules finally accepts his fate. Dwayne The Rock Johnson says in filming he did that take 8 times and blacked out each time.
Seriously he is so handsome
The next movie that I will see with my friends are either Lucy or Guardians of the Galaxy. We will see what they choose. I have a friend coming back from Seattle and so the Hot Mess Express needs to get together for a little karaoke action or whatever. We will see. After the movie Baby B and I went to Wal-mart to buy school supplies and other supplies for the Catholic Charities of Fort Worth to help the unaccompanied minors that have been in the news recently. It’s a small way to help but we want to do our part as Catholics and as human beings The charity has the Creating Hope donation center and they are in dire need of school supplies. They are also accepting gift cards as well for AMC Theaters, Walmart and more.
Legoland of Discovery
On Sunday I hung out and did a press review of the Legoland Discovery Center. I finally got the chance to explore this indoor amusement park and I can’t wait for the new addition of Pirate’s Beach to open up in August. Baby B and A-Boy had a fun time here with everything from racing lego cars, to riding the forest ranger pursuit, to watching the Legends of Chima 4D show. I was surprised how much Baby B loves Legos. Not just the Legos for girls but even the ones where you can create cars. It was cute to see her with all the boys racing her car down the racetrack. A-boy had a great time as well and I can’t believe both of them are 4 years old. The official review will be on my sister site: Dallas Mom Deals so stay tuned. Here are some great photos of our outing.
A lot happened over the weekend but once I finally made it home, I resorted to my astrological chart to see where to chart off to next. So to continue helping me to get over my breakup and to use the heck out of this Mars in Scorpio energy I am on a body transformation mission. I’m doing the workout twice a day thing and of course really working on the diet. That is hard for a rising sign Taurus like me that loves to indulge and being indulged by my man with great food, wine and gifts. So time to set the goal, aim and hit the mark. It’s time to prepare my home and my temple (myself) for the greatest love affair of my life – ME!
I heard that this was a great movie. Well anything the Rock does is good. I will definitely have to go and see it.
