Holiday Brunch and spending time with friends on my birthday
For two weekends in a row I visited the flagship Neiman Marcus store in downtown Dallas. Their holiday buffet is one of my favorite Christmas traditions and it was where I celebrated my 37th birthday with my friends. Their presence was my present and we had a white elephant gift exchange all themed around things I would like to receive for my birthday.
There are a few things I enjoy getting as gifts as I enjoy luxury and practicality. Anything related to hot beverages such as Starbucks, coffee and tea. I travel a lot so travel mugs are a must since I have a few of those but anything related to coffee is an awesome gift for me. The other gift I enjoy are chocolates so somebody also happened to gift some Ghirardelli chocolate caramels with a Starbucks travel tumbler. I am kinda predictable in that sense because I would definitely pick that for White Elephant. There were other great things at the White Elephant Gift exchange – a trendy pillow that had the words LOVE emblazoned on it from Macy’s (My boyfriend bought that, that is how I know). I was ecstatic to get 12% cashback (doubled) today from eBates for shopping at Macy’s so this was a good steal. I opted to gift a Teavana ceramic tea diffuser- absolutely beautiful and definitely under $20. In the plethora of gifts were Starbuck’s Gift Cards, a bottle of wine, a wreath for the home, a lotion gift pack and a set of wine tumblers. All of these were great gifts that I would have enjoyed. I also got a special treat from one of my close friends and guests in attendance who sang “Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas” right in the middle of the Zodiac Room at Neiman Marcus. I feel so blessed and special to have such wonderful friends. There is still time to schedule your holiday brunch when you check out the Zodiac Room at the downtown Dallas flagship store.
Breakfast with Santa
Now Breakfast with Santa this past weekend was extra special as I took CJ and Baby B to see Santa and have breakfast at the Zodiac room again. Breakfast was pancakes, bacon, eggs and fruit. We were entertained by Eddie Coker and the kids really enjoyed that performance. After that we were whisked away to get a photo with Santa and it was cute seeing the babies cry on Santa’s lap and the families get their photos taken. I think my two did a phenomenal job.
Downtown Dallas
Low and behold we parked in a parking garage that only accepted cash. We spent the day exploring downtown a little bit more, stopping by the giant eyeball by Woolworth and eventually getting lunch at CBD Provisions where we ate small finger foods. Then I headed to CVS and of course Chase Bank to get money out of the ATM. It was an exhausting Saturday for sure.
Here’s the lowdown on the brunch menu:
The kids enjoyed the pastries I got one of each. We also ordered the black eyed pea hummus, the Nduja Pimento Cheese, baby lettuce salad, grits and french fries. The fries were surprisingly good and crispy. The grits were amazing. My kids had never tried grits before and they were covered in a Texas cheese.
