I have a testimonial, but then again I have a lot of testimonials but this one is very special to me. One of the ways that you know you are providing a positive experience to someone is if they are willing to give you a testimonial for their expertise and services. I have been running this site since the May/June 2011 timeframe and I am very proud of the success I have achieved so far.

While I do run a blog that has a lot of great information I also run consultancy work on the side in the areas of blogging for small businesses and social media management. This part of my business helps others who have a website acquire more engagement and targeted marketing for their own business. If you are reading this, you may be wondering how this all works and that’s where you can pick my brain for a fee.
Prior to this I worked for over 10 years in sales and marketing for corporate environments and since I was seven years old (maybe younger) I have worked with my parents at flea markets selling anything and everything. So whether you are running a business online or in person, you need to have a basic understanding of listening to your customer and engaging them with what you have to say. People don’t like to be sold to, but they love to buy. In the online world, you have to make your voice heard and a few ways to build credibility and grow is through testimonials (reviews) and rankings.
Alexa Rankings
If you are new here or new to blogging, than I’m going to give a brief recap of what an Alexa ranking means to blogs and websites.
Alexa ratings are based on how many people, with the Alexa Toolbar installed, (it takes less than 5 minutes to get it installed) visit your blog, how much time they spend there and how many pages they look at while there. The more the better. Read more!
A ranking from Alexa means that you could possibly gain more credibility from other article directory sites, potential advertisers, and potential sponsors. While some will say it doesn’t matter, I believe it is a good testimonial (if you use it correctly) when negotiating with potential advertisers and companies about how much traffic your site draws each day and each month. Your site becomes an influencer.
So here are my Rankings!
As of January 10, 2012, my rank was 195,510 with a US rank of 42,792. For awhile I was hovering around 178K (Monday, March 19th) but today after some changes to the SEO portion of my pages and a reshuffling of my Menus, my rank is now at 169,784 with a US traffic rank of 38,369.

My goal is to get into the top 100,000 by July 10th and there are a lot of things that I’m planning on doing to the site in order to get there.
So how did I get there?
I performed a preliminary audit. A full site audit is one of the things that I will be doing within the next thirty days because it means I will get great tools to improve the traffic on this site. Could your website be better optimized? Alexa allows you to find out with an Alexa Site Audit! This may be the next necessary step for you to get what you need to increase your ranking.
I have also used Google AdSense Keywords based on the targeted topics appropriate to my sites to update the keywords and tags for each page on this site. It’s pretty simple. Since I use a self-hosted WordPress site, I use a special plugin to accomplish this.
is a great plugin that makes adding these SEO type keywords and tags easy to add to your site. Just buying updating SEO keywords to each of my pages, I have improved my rank basically overnight.
Reviews
I strongly recommend doing Alexa reviews and commenting. However, for an Alexa review to be effective you will need the Alexa toolbar. If you would like to get your own toolbar, just download it right here:
Remember, you should add and complete a registration with Alexa, but then you can write reviews for any site you visit. When you visit a site, click on a few links and then click on the toolbar to do your review. Encourage others to write a review on your site.
