I finished up my Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving and frankly with events happening last week, I’m not really in the mood to shop. Granted I need a new smartphone and I’m eligible for an upgrade. I also need a new HDTV since mine broke a few weeks back, but I’m not in a rush to get a new one without seeing all the deals available to me. Luckily, the folks at Dealnews have some great articles and tips on after Christmas shopping. The kids are not getting anything after Christmas. After Christmas shopping is all about mom.
December 26 is a busy day for shoppers. Whether you’re using your new gift card or secretly making a gift exchange, retailers tend to bombard shoppers with after-Christmas sales.
Dealnews wrote about what to expect from sales in 2012 by analyzing what happened with
2011 deals to offer predictions for 2012.

Without giving too much away, they definitely talk about electronics and HDTV’s as being something you should wait on for the best deals post-Christmas. Here’s a list of items that I’m going to be waiting until After Christmas to shop for:
Software
There’s a host of software that I want to purchase after Christmas. They include the following:
Dragon Naturally Speaking by Nuance – This handy, dandy software transcribes for you. As a blogger I need to have this for a variety of reasons, one of which is to transcribe my blog posts. Retailing right now with different versions from $79 to $500 depending upon your current wants and needs, I’d love to get this software. Windows 8 – I’d like this for my HP Touchsmart since I think it’s just plain bad-a$$. I think this would work well for the touchscreen capabilities of my HP Touchsmart. Amazon.com has them for just $66 for the upgrade. Microsoft Windows 8 Pro – Upgrade – get it here!
MS Office 2010 I still like to use word, excel and all of that. Just want to make sure it’s downloaded to my new computer. I will also need some great Anti-virus software.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus I love this brand for their versatility and lately there seems to be a lot of viruses and hacks
Here’s my wishlist for electronics:
I’d like a brand new HDTV or LCD. I’m leaning to the Samsung brand at 51 inches or taller but I will get one smaller if that means I can purchase two televisions. I will be checking eBayfor these.
For smartphones, I’m also looking at the Samsung/Android smartphones which I will be ferociously upgrading as well after Christmas. I’m looking at the current one called the Note.
Here’s my wishlist for apparel, beauty and fashion:
I am losing weight and so I need a brand new wardrobe for work. I have been scouring eBay for great finds on Elie Tahari, Ann Taylor and other nice brands and cuts that fit me well. In the area of perfume, I really like Lady Gaga – Fame
Also don’t forget handbags. For me, I love Coach and I tend to shop the Coach outlet on eBay when they have their 70% off deals. However, Zulilly now has a Gucci handbags that are going fast. They are at least 35% off.
