A new TikTok trend is making iPhone owners look at their Screen Time in a completely different way. Instead of thinking in hours, people are converting their totals into full days and the results are leaving many genuinely stunned. It is one thing to know you scroll a lot, but it hits differently when you realize how much of an entire year can vanish into a screen.
The wave of curiosity took off after a viral TikTok racked up more than 5.4 million views. In the video, 27-year-old Lejla from New Jersey shared her reaction after seeing another user’s numbers for 2025. She wrote that the total added up to 130 days and admitted that checking her own stats made her feel sick, joking that a phone detox would begin the next day.
As soon as the clip started spreading, the comments turned into a mix of honesty, humor, and avoidance. Some people said the idea alone was enough to make them reconsider their habits, while others decided they were better off never knowing. One person wrote they would not do it for “personal reasons,” while another claimed 81 days and then quickly added that their iPad time should probably be ignored.
Others kept the mood light, treating it like a horror movie they could simply refuse to watch. Someone joked that they would rather choose a good night’s sleep than learn that information, while another admitted the truth felt a little too intense. One commenter even shared a shocking figure of 228 days and wondered if they had calculated it wrong, which only fueled the collective panic.

For anyone tempted to check, the process starts in the Settings app. Open Screen Time to see your daily average, then tap into the option that shows all app and website activity for a more detailed breakdown. That view highlights your most-used apps and sites, and it can also show how many notifications you are getting, which often explains why it feels like you are constantly being pulled back to your phone.
There is a catch, though, and it is why people are doing back-of-the-napkin math in the first place. Apple does not keep an easy long-term archive of this information, and the visible data typically covers only about the past week. If you want a true yearly total, you would need to track and add it up yourself over time or rely on a third-party app that records usage more continuously.
Have you tried calculating your yearly Screen Time, and did it make you rethink anything about how you use your phone? Share your thoughts in the comments.
