Adapting to the realities of everyday life during this global moment is one of the current needs touching families across the United States. Right here, I am doing the same thing, and KERA is here to help. Learning to support my children’s educational development in addition navigating the waters created by the pandemic is a challenge to say the least.
In a very cool and supportive move KERA, North Texas’ PBS member station, has opened up it’s programming to support at home learning. They have tweaked the already educational programming to support helping parents turn every home into a classroom as a part of this new normal situation that we are experiencing here in the United States.
The new lineup of curriculum-based television programs supports the students in more than 120 school districts across North Texas that have suspended classes to slow the spread of COVID-19. This PBS and NPR member station will provide free programs and digital resources that are aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards.
At kera.org/learn, you can find services to “turn every home into a classroom”, and you’ll also find an educational TV schedule, digital media collections, and as well as helpful Curated Tips and Tools for Teachers.
