Summer is in full swing and with the Covid restrictions still in place families are looking for things to do, experiences to have, but safety is a first priority. Enter the Drive-In and after 20 years of doing them better than anyone else, the Tribeca Film Festival has chosen Dallas as one their 4 flagship locations for this year’s collective of film experiences.
We had the pleasure of chatting with Paula Weinstein, EVP of Entertainment about why Dallas, what she loves about the drive-in experience and what guests should expect. A single mom with adult children that adores Dallas, she knows the balance of being mom, trying to entertain your kids and juggling all the balls involved with parenting.
She noted that “safety is a priority and that masks are a must! Guests should not to expect to get out of the car without a mask, and that food trucks” and other opportunities to obtain food will be available. That being said, I could hear the light in her voice as she spoke of her memories of visiting the drive-in as a child, and “that this can be a great memory for you and your children. And one that you will never forget it. It is wonderful way to share and bond with your kids and share a movie and to be a unit” celebrating and enjoying an experience together with others… in a safe way.
