Martha Stewart Sparks Online Debate With Controversial Bagel Method

Martha Stewart is generally regarded as the ultimate authority on everything related to the home and kitchen. However, a recent revelation about how she eats a classic breakfast staple has left many fans confused and even outraged.

During a visit to a popular bakery, the lifestyle mogul demonstrated that she does not simply slice and toast her bagels like the rest of us. Instead, she performs a technique known as “scooping.”

This process involves tearing out the soft, doughy interior of the bagel and discarding it. She is left with only the outer crust, forming a hollow shell or trench.

Stewart explained that she prefers this method because she likes the crispiness of the crust more than the dense interior. Additionally, hollowing out the bread allows her to fill the void with a larger amount of cream cheese.

I find this reasoning interesting because it prioritizes the ratio of toppings to the vessel. However, watching someone pull apart fresh bread only to throw it away does feel somewhat wrong to me.

The reaction on social media was immediate and largely critical. Many users argued that the soft, chewy inside is actually the best part of the bagel experience.

Some comments jokingly suggested that this behavior should be considered a crime in New York. Others pointed out that it seems incredibly wasteful to pay for a full pastry only to eat half of it.

Despite the backlash, Stewart stands by her culinary preference. She insists that this is the lighter, crispier way to enjoy the treat without feeling too weighed down by the dough.

Let us know if you think scooping a bagel is a genius hack or a total waste of food in the comments.
