About the Artura
Our Publisher Teia Collier attended the preview and asked Heath Strayhan, the General Manager of the Premier Collection from Avondale Group about the Artura. We wanted to know what made it special, different and how it fits into the McLaren brand.
He noted that “the latest hybrid Supercar from the seminal British technology, racing and automotive company that has redefined the meaning of lightweight performance through their years of innovation in Carbon Fiber. The first in a range of new supercars born of the McLaren Carbon Fiber Lightweight Architecture platform, Artura represents the next step in aerodynamic efficiency, minimalist design and lightness.“
He went on to tell us that “The all-new twin turbocharged V6 internal combustion engine generates 671BHP. Combined with the electric motor, the car will generate mind blowing torque while maintaining the control and drivability that only a McLaren can. We are excited to present the new Artura to you as the next step in refinement and production improvements, as well. A five-year, unlimited mileage warranty will provide the peace of mind you need to use this car every day, providing a truly elevated ownership experience.
About the Afternoon
The festive, socially-distanced, limited attendance and art-centric event was held within the McLaren showroom and was curated to compliment the color and the design of the striking Artura. Guests were treated to exquisite bites by Lombardi Family Concepts, including vegetarian sushi, chicken skewers, and more.
Car enthusiasts alike mingled while enjoying artful beats provided by a live DJ and commemorative libations including custom Monkey Shoulder Jam Smashes, complete with a palette of jam selections, Hendricks Gin Champagne cocktails, and beer and wine.
Dallas-Fort Worth-based artist, Stephen Selzler, was commissioned by Avondale Group to create a live piece of artwork at the event highlighting the new era of hybrid performance technology alongside the heritage of Bruce McLaren and the brand’s rich Formula 1 and racing history.
At the end of the evening, McLaren Dallas chose one attendee’s name through a random draw to go home with the custom piece of artwork.
All guests were gifted a signed and numbered poster of the commissioned piece.
