“Mama. Woman. Goddess. Social Journalist. Driver. Educator. Coach. People Connector. Lifestyle Expert. Concierge. Reader. Maker. Experience Collector. Happy Eater. Modern Texan. Global Citizen. Eternal Optimist. History Junkie. Lover of the Fine, Beautiful and Gracious. “
When asked to describe myself, there are so many words that I could use to describe myself… depending on my mood, the day and the project that I’ve taken on. Like most modern moms, I wear many hats and happily don my superhero cape, if needed.

My background in education, public policy, government affairs and corporate wellness. I have had extended sojourns into the fields of event management, blogging, historic preservation and lifestyle management, hence how the world of content creation has been a natural fit for me since 2006. I am an experienced editor, lifestyle expert, educator, automotive and social journalist with a love of beautiful things, auto, arts, the written word and really good experiences. These skills and loves have served as my platforms for connecting with some of the best people on the planet, sharing the good word, encouraging mothers across the nation and connecting families with the people, products and services to help them live their best lives now.

Back in 2016, I became the Owner, Publisher and EIC at Dallas Single Mom {Parents} because I wanted to be a part of the community changing the conversation on single motherhood and create a positive safe haven for single parents that choose to find the gift in this journey and want to create a better world for themselves and their short people. In 2021, I became the VP of Events for the Texas Auto Writers Association because I wanted to connect and bring more voices and views into the automotive/lifestyle landscape. Also in June of 2021, I was appointed to the School Board in Mesquite, Texas. I took on this additional Trustee role because I figure if I want to keep the good and see positive changes in my community that I had better do my part.

I wanted to be a part of a community that uplifts, inspires and connects…. when I didn’t find it elsewhere, I decided to create it… hence the current incarnation of DallasSingleMom.com. Connecting more than 50K viewers monthly across a variety of platforms, it is clear we are on to something wonderful.

I am excited to bring all of my experience to this community and see what we can do together for ourselves and the communities that we love. I have worked and consulted within communities across the country with families and clients, adults and students, in a variety of roles over the last twenty years.
If I have learned anything, it is that a good life is created in the everyday moments, and luckily those are ours for the taking, creating and making the most of them. And thank goodness too.
What I Believe and the Lens that Dallas Single Mom {Parents} is Created in?

I believe in the Good. I believe in the power of connecting to your community. I believe in the gift of family. I believe in the power of women and men to do awesome things. This world is smaller than we ever imagined, and that we are all connected to each other. I believe that we can accomplish the impossible and that I am walking, talking, living proof that everything is actually possible. Knowing this, I know that we are meant for more than just making it or surviving — that we are meant to thrive and will — with the right tools, access and support.

I believe in the power of a brand new day. I am committed to making this world a better place and sharing the gift of you, me and our time here. I believe that we are our children’s first and hopefully best examples. I also believe that you shape your world a little bit day by day, and that it is up to us to make it what we will.

I look forward to bringing a bright spot to the internet and sharing some of the rather awesome folks in our community. I also am looking forward to sharing what’s new, now, real and next and seeing you there as well.

Thank you for sharing your time and day with us here at Dallas Single Mom, now Parents.
