Natural and Healthy: 4 Ways To Clean Up Your Beauty Routine

Beauty· Lifestyle· Single Mom Life

Your beauty routine determines more than just how you look each day. In fact, it’s the key to your overall skin health and can contribute to how often you develop blemishes. To look and feel your best when walking out the door, you need a quality skin care regimen. This is where the importance of cleaner products comes into play. With healthier, more natural formulas at your disposal, you set yourself up for better results, and ultimately, a protected complexion. These are a few ways to clean up your beauty routine and ensure you only use the best.

Natural and Healthy: 4 Ways To Clean Up Your Beauty Routine

Cut Out the Clutter

First and foremost, you can cut out skin care products that aren’t doing anything for you. We all have a few bottles on our shelves that probably don’t need to be there. But we hold onto them because we’re unsure of what would take its place. Even so, consider whether it’s effective on your skin. In many cases, you may find that you don’t actually need it at all, and getting rid of it now can leave you room for better items.

Prioritize Ingredient Quality

To narrow things down further, you can also start looking more closely at the ingredient lists on your most-used products. While it’s easy to get deterred by the complicated terminology, it’s easy to distinguish clean and toxic ingredients if you know what to look for. For instance, you should avoid things like SD alcohol or ethanol because they tend to irritate the skin. Natural agents like vitamin C, retinol, or hydroquinone are typically more useful.

Research Cleaner Options

Now that you’re aware of what’s in your beauty products, you can clean up your beauty routine is by replacing your less effective formulas with alternatives. This may require a bit of research into the world of non-toxic skin care, to learn what this movement is and what substances will be most beneficial to you. However, once you have an idea of what you’ll need, it’ll be much easier to find products that suit your specifications.

Experiment With New Products

Most importantly, take some time to experiment with new products. After all, regardless of how much research you do, you can’t tell if it works unless you give it a try. Even if you have to go through a handful of different formulas to find the right one, you’ll know for the future what to avoid for the sake of a healthy and vibrant complexion.
