I had a wonderful opportunity to receive a Merry and Bright facial from Facelogic on Lover’s Lane in Highland Park. Facelogic is a staple along the many shops and restaurants on Lover’s Lane in fact it’s close to a favorite date night spot of mine.
I should have wrote this review a long time ago, but I’ve been sick with some kind of bug and unable to do a proper video blog, however, I’m naturally blessed with pretty great skin and as my aesthetician, Alicia at Facelogic would say, “You have great pores.”
I love get facials and whether I do them at home or at the spa, having a skincare regimen and getting intense beauty treatments or a must for the busy mom that rarely spends time for herself. I’m more apt to use all natural ingredients and so I was pleasantly surprised by the ingredients in the Merry and Bright facial at Facelogic.
This facial is a special and will make a great gift for your favorite guy or gal. It includes root ingredients such as yams which get a lot of nutrients from the ground as well as pumpkin, which is known for providing the skin benefits of Vitamins A, C and Zinc. It’s also perfect for all skin types. So if you are worried that your skin is too oily or dry, you don’t have to worry with the Merry and Bright Facial.
When you purchase this limited edition facial for the holidays, you are supporting a family in Zambia with the power of light. A luxury that we take for granted in the US. Proceeds go towards providing solar powered LED lights to families which can help a child read a bedtime story at night, help families cook and help families gather. Visit empoweredbylight.org for more information about this program. Facelogic is hoping to provide at least 100 lights to Zambia by the New Year.
The Merry & Bright treatment goes for $75 for a 60 minute facial with a 5% peel or 20 minute facial with a 20% peel (for more dramatic results and also less time-consuming). What I like about Facelogic is they also have membership options to lower your costs when you buy in volume. Memberships are offered to provide further value on signature and elite treatments in addition to several seasonal specials; members can achieve monthly Signature Facials for $49. Pre-paid packages which allow more cost efficient monthly services include the 6-month membership at $294 and the 12 month membership at $588.
My Personal Review
After playing phone tag back and forth I’m glad I finally was able to secure a spot. Once I got in, the atmosphere is quite cozy with a lot of rooms and curtained stalls for privacy. My aesthetician, Alicia, forgive me if I spelled your name wrong, was amazing and she really loved the idea of the Merry and Bright facial as a way of reaching out to those less fortunate. Once we got seated and got into my meditative state, Alicia did a great job with the massage and applying the facial. You could smell the pumpkin and I didn’t think the facial stung at all. It was a great experience.
Now did I notice a difference, somewhat. You have to remember, I have pretty good skin and rarely if ever break out. I didn’ t experience a breakout but was glad to have a nice healthy glow. Alicia performed two pore extractions and she did them expertly. Many will swear for or against extractions and I highly recommend you have a professional do them and NOT do them on your own.
My star rating: it’s a 4 out of 5. I love the facial itself and its suitable for all skin types and I love the charitable contributions. I didn’t give it 5 stars because some people’s skin may be ultra sensitive and if you have not had a facial before this may not be the one for you. I would contact Facelogic directly to consult with them first.
