AdventureCon is a blogging conference that the wonderful folks over at Sea World San Antonio host for bloggers every year. This is my second time at AdventureCon and the format seems to be different every year. At last year’s AdventureCon the focus was on different social media platforms and mobile. This year a lot of the focus talked about today’s trends of content development, writing stories and being newsworthy.
What I love about AdventureCon is that as a blogging conference it is a very valuable experience. It’s an intimate group that allows you to bring your families for SeaWorld fun with a lot of perks for families as well. While bloggers learn and attend sessions, families get to take part in activities at the park. There is a cost for all of this fun but I think this is a great way to meet fellow bloggers and learn how to make your blog better.

It’s #NationalSunglassesDay
Many of us bloggers and speakers put a lot of effort to not just build brand partnerships with a wonderful organization such as SeaWorld San Antonio but as business owners ourselves we crave the group development. Some highlights of the things I’ve learned from my fellow bloggers centers around charity and community service. We are businesses and influencers in our own right but we also have the capacity to inspire and encourage our communities. One of the most inspiring stories to hear was about Cardboard Kids in San Antonio and the efforts of fellow bloggers Colleen Pence from San Antonio Mom Blogs and Stacy Teet from KidsStuffWorld. The concept of Cardboard Kids is to bring awareness to abused children in San Antonio. Texas has a high rank of child abuse and Bexar county is #2 behind Harris County in the state of Texas for incidences of abuse. I think the awareness of what Cardboard Kids was able to do on the social media landscape is a testament and power of what social media can reach and accomplish.
On this same Flipboard for Carboard Kids you can see people tweeting and hashtagging photos of themselves with these cardboard kids.

Each carboard kid you can decorate and name. Another session that we learned a lot from was from News Reporter Randy Escamilla
My favorite takeaway from @randyescamilla at #AdventureCon14 today — at the heart of telling great stories is being a great listener — Stacy of KSW (@stacyofksw) June 21, 2014
His stories were inspiring. He featured a few stories from the news 4 San Antonio but the one that really spoke to me was when he delivered some meals on wheels during an ice storm. It reminded me that even the smallest gestures can make a difference. Something I’d like to do more of. There is a lot to be learned at AdventureCon and I enjoyed the event this year. We learned a lot about Pinterest and as a result I hired a virtual assistant to focus on this platform for me. There was also a session on Google + as well as sessions on contacting and working with the media. I’m truly blessed to be a Wildsider again this year and I’m very proud of the support of SeaWorld San Antonio for single parents everywhere. Here are some incredible photos captured during Adventurecon14

It was a wonderful conference, wasn’t it? So glad I got to see you but would love to have more time to hang out with you next time!
Yes. It was very busy and it was hard because I also wasn’t feeling well that day. Great conference!
So glad you got a lot out of AdventureCon. We do have the power to change the world.
Yes. I think starting small is always a good start.
