Summer is the time when I wear dresses more than any other season. It’s hot in Texas. It is almost guaranteed that it will be over 100 degrees for more than a month and it simply requires to much effort to do more than a dress. That being said, I love looking put together and I can’t think of an easier way.
I’ve been on a personal quest to add some color to my wardrobe, though I will be the first to admit that I gravitate to sleek lines and classically feminine shapes.
Here are 2 of my personal favorites.
I got this midi dress in black about a month ago from the Henderson store and it flows into constant rotation. It has the versatility of a tank and the gorgeous swing and ease of the Italian dresses of old Hollywood. I simply hand wash it and lay it out to dry. It works with a bra and without. Its fit and flare shape is flattering and feels beautiful on. It travels well, doesn’t wrinkle and is absolutely worth absolutely every penny. I need the red and the rose ones too to round out my collection.
I love a good wrap dress. Summer is made for dresses in fact, but I am life prone and I have a toddler that may or may not need to be picked up. Hence the awesome of this dress. It is softly shaped with curve enhancing ruffles. It is easy with a back zip and figure flattering. I tried snagged this one at the store and it is right on track with my normal JCrew sizing. It garners compliments easily and Right now there is a 25% sale going on (shop here)
