With all the shopping opportunities over at the Shops at Park Lane it is very easy to miss some of the great dining opportunities out there. After a hard day of work or shopping, head over to Gordon Biersch for on site brewed beer specials, great drinks like their bourbon mule and also some amazing appetizers and dining features. This makes a great lunch, date or happy hour spot.
When I was in college in Hawaii, I frequented Gordon Biersch a lot and so I’m happy to see them here in Dallas-Fort Worth with a location in Plano and the Gordon Biersch in Dallas at the Shops at Park Lane at 8060 Park Lane off of highway 75 in Dallas.
Available now through February 2nd, continue to ring in the New Year with Gordon Biersch’s famous 6 Beer Flight Sampler for only $5. That is an awesome deal and quite frankly enough to sample some great tasting beers and have a good time. There is also a new bourbon mule with Jim Bean Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. The cool thing about the mule is that it is in a mule mug with ginger beer and fresh lime.
I posted the bourbon mule on Instagram
Gordon Biersch invited me to try a few of original favorites such as the Blue Crab Artichoke Dip. Dallas Single Dad sampled the beer flight and also tried the Brewer’s combo of Grilled märzen-simmered bratwursts, a soft pretzel and our legendary garlic fries. I tried the Alaska Sockeye Salmon and Dallas Single Dad tried the Kobe Beef Cheeseburger. The kids had a lot of great eats as well as they both got chicken tenders and corn dogs.

Learning about the beers from our server was an interesting treat about Gordon Biersch. They have about 5 signature beers they brew at each of the Gordon Biersch locations in addition each local brewmaster for each restaurant will try out new creations as long as they adhere to the same standards. What makes their beer different is that the brewmasters keep the beer to the standards of premium German-style biers and according to the standards of the Reinheitsgebot or German Purity Law. The beers at Gordon Biersch use only the highest quality Weyermann Malt from Bamberg, authentic Bavarian Hersbrucker hops and pure, filtered water. So even if some of the beers we tried had a sweet or coffee taste like the Schwarzbier, there are no other additives in the beer. The beers that are regularly on tap include: Golden Export, Hefeweizen, Schwarzbier, Marzen, and Czech Pilsner. The additional thing you will notice is that on the menu they give you examples of item pairings with their beers. Essential if your happy hour also includes dinner. Along with the Bourbon Mule I mentioned above they have a wide variety of wines and cocktails that suit your tastes.

Here’s the $5 Beer Flight at Gordon Biersch available now till Feb 2.
