A content creator who successfully infiltrated Jeffrey Epstein’s notorious island and filmed footage there has been forced to issue an apology after allegedly receiving threats. Nico Grigg made the bold decision to sneak onto the infamous financier’s property, Little Saint James, located in the U.S. Virgin Islands and believed to have been the site of numerous illegal activities. His daring expedition has sparked controversy and raised questions about the lengths some influencers will go for views and content.
The video was published on Grigg’s channel in January, shortly before the U.S. Department of Justice released the latest series of documents connected to Epstein. Despite numerous high-profile names being mentioned in the files since then, this didn’t deter the influencer from attempting to reach the island by any means necessary. Grigg traveled to the U.S. Virgin Islands where, after several unsuccessful attempts, he and his friends made a final effort to access the property on the last day of their stay.
Grigg’s footage, posted to his YouTube channel on January 30, revealed that people are still present on the island. He explained that years after Epstein’s death while awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking, the island was eventually sold to billionaire Stephen Deckoff. The businessman purchased both Great St. James and Little St. James for 60 million dollars through his company SD Investments, although the advertised price was 125 million dollars. Deckoff has announced plans to transform the island into an adults-only resort.
Grigg managed to reach the shore, and in the video, which has accumulated over 3.1 million views to date, he noted that he could see construction work from the beach. He also claimed that while riding a jet ski around the island, he spotted people in golf carts filming him. However, he couldn’t move freely around the island and only managed to reach the beach of Little Saint James after stepping on several sea urchins along the way.
Following his adventure, Grigg posted on TikTok that he is being followed by black Escalade SUVs that, he claims, wait outside his house daily. In the video, he apologized to anyone he may have offended with his stunt. “As far as I know, these could be friends of Jeffrey Epstein. If I’ve angered anyone, I’m sorry and I want all of this to end,” he said. The threatening situation appears to have rattled the YouTuber enough to prompt a public apology, something rarely seen from content creators who typically stand by their controversial videos.

The island itself was searched by the FBI following Epstein’s death, a convicted pedophile, serial rapist and human trafficker. More than three million documents have been released to date as part of the notorious Epstein Files, which also mention Croatian television host Mia Kovačić. The ongoing document releases have continued to fuel public interest in the case and the various figures connected to it, though many questions remain unanswered about what truly occurred on the island.
Little Saint James, often referred to as Epstein Island, gained notoriety as the private Caribbean retreat of financier Jeffrey Epstein. Located in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the 70 to 78 acre island was purchased by Epstein in 1998 for approximately 7.95 million dollars. The property featured a main residence, guest houses, and various other structures including a distinctive temple-like building that became a focal point of speculation. Federal authorities conducted extensive searches of the island following Epstein’s arrest in 2019 on federal charges of sex trafficking of minors.
The island’s reputation stems from allegations that it served as a location where Epstein and his associates engaged in the sexual abuse and trafficking of underage girls. Numerous victims testified that they were brought to the island and abused there, with some describing a complex web of surveillance and control. The property included an airstrip that allowed Epstein to fly in guests privately, earning the location the nickname “Pedophile Island” among locals and in media reports. After Epstein’s death in 2019 while awaiting trial, the property became part of his estate proceedings.
Stephen Deckoff’s purchase of both Little Saint James and Great Saint James in 2023 marked a new chapter for the properties. The businessman stated his intention to create a luxury resort, though his plans have faced scrutiny given the islands’ dark history. The development work visible in Grigg’s footage suggests that transformation efforts are underway, though questions remain about whether such a location can ever truly escape its past associations. The presence of security personnel and ongoing construction indicates that the new owner is serious about redeveloping the property despite its infamy.
